Explore updated distributions of small carnivorans
The goal of this website is to provide the most updated distributions of small carnivorans assessed by the IUCN Small Carnivore Specialist Group. The information will be updated at a minimum of once per year and ideally as needed throughout the year.
There are approximately 167 species of mammalian small carnivorans that could be potentially be found on this site in the future from the families Mustelidae, Procyonidae, Ailuridae, Mephitidae, Herpestidae, Eupleridae, Prionodontidae, Viverridae, and Nandiniidae.
Distribution data is used in the assessment of a species extinction risk on the IUCN Red List and can also be used in more local assessments such as states, provinces, and regions.
